Wedding Shower Cake

I made this cake for a wedding shower.  The invitations were teal with a black filigree/damask print on them that matched the design on the cake.  I used ribbon around the bottom of each tier. The black frosting is royal frosting. I've found that if you make it a day or two in advance, put it in a Ziploc bag and let it sit for a day or two, black gets much darker.

Cookie Monster Cookies & Cake

For Andrew's 3rd birthday this year, we had a Cookie Monster theme. Mostly because I had seen these cupcakes on Pinterest and just HAD to make them.  I made some cookies as favors. I bought a cookie cutter set from Williams Sonoma that included Cookie Monster and frosted them using a royal frosting.

The cupcakes turned out cute. I used candy melts for the eyes with royal frosting for the pupils. Store bought cookies cut in half worked best (I think I used Famous Amos, since they are on the smaller size). I used the grass tip for the fur (the one with several small holes in it).

The big Cookie Monster was made using the stand up bear pan. I trimmed off the ears and used cake pops for the eyeballs. I didn't realize until the party was starting how much of a frown he had. Guess he ate too many cookies!  He is sitting on a giant chocolate chip cookie.

Little Mermaid Cake

I made this Little Mermaid cake for Katie's 3rd birthday. I made the sea creatures using chocolate molds and candy melts. The sea weed, coral and bubbles are made out of marshmallow fondant. Ariel is a toy. The sand is crushed graham crackers.

Fire Helmet Cake and Fire Cupcakes

I made this cake for a fire themed birthday party.  The helmet was made with a ball cake pan (1/2 of it) on top of a round cake.  The base I cut from a cake board, covered it in frosting and then I sprayed the whole thing red with food coloring spray. The hose & helmet sign were made out of marshmallow fondant.

These are some Sea cupcakes I made for a birthday party.  I made the Octopus, Orca, Dolphin, and Shark out of marshmallow fondant.  The fish were made out of candy melts in a fish mold.

Royal Family Kids Camp Birthday Party

For Royal Family Kids Camp this year we had an Olympic theme.  I made sugar cookies that looked like gold medals.  I used gold spray food coloring on top of white frosting to give them a shiny finish. Then I used food coloring markers to draw the Olympic rings and write each campers name on them. The stars were made out of marshmallow fondant. I also sprayed them with food coloring and put sprinkles on it while still wet.  I made the stars ahead of time, so that they had a chance to dry out a bit. It made it easier to stand them up in the cupcakes.
